More information
Pinot Grigio has been growing in Australia since 1832, but only in the last 20 years have plantings taken much of a hold. Now, due to the popularity of northern Italian examples, everyone is thirsty for this grape. A local boy, Sam Trimboli knows exactly where the best fruit in Riverina is grown. He doesn’t have extensive vineyards of his own, but works closely with grower friends to obtain top quality bunches for his delicious wines. He’s also a bit of a master at knowing when to pick the grapes – when they are just ripe enough, but still retain lots of zingy fresh acidity too. Essential in crisp whites. Sam has made us a lovely bright fruit white. Chill it down – it’s a top choice solo or with all sorts of seafood or spicy Asian dishes.
