Mackmyra Bruk opened its distillery doors in 2002, producing a single malt. That moved to larger premises in 2012, and the team started work renovating the original site to make top quality experimental spirits. They’ve since enjoyed exciting collaborations with famous names like Springbank, Plantation Rum, Drouin and Philipponnat, and won many top awards. Not least Gold at the World Gin Awards 2019 for the first release of Mackmyra Lab+Distillery Organic Gin. This one’s a solo project. The botanicals are foraged from close by – juniper, coriander, lemon, lingonberry and elderflower – though the mango’s from a little further afield – while distillation is in a copper pot still. Recommended with gin cocktails including a classic dry martini.
