With its modern winemaking and ideal vineyard conditions, Sicily is "revealing undreamed of character and potential in local grapes” (Decanter). Prime among these is dark, brooding Nero d’Avola, which in Massivo produces a powerful, rich, spicy red.

If you like BIG Aussie reds, we’d like to introduce you to a wine with the same uncompromising, fruit-rich style, but with a distinctly Italian accent. A southern one, to be precise, because Massivo comes from Mediterranean Sicily, where big red fans can enjoy great quality and unbeatable value for money. But this isn’t a Cabernet or Shiraz. It’s a modern take on the traditional local grape variety Nero d’Avola, the swarthy ‘godfather’ of Italian grapes. It boasts a big 14% personality, is impeccably smooth, and has immense depth thanks to the exclusive use of richly concentrated fruit from some of the island’s oldest vines. With bags of flavour and character, Massivo is especially good alongside rich pasta dishes or char-grilled meats.
