Classic Médoc from a family estate in Saint Christoly de Médoc, just north of Saint Éstephe. Old vines, gravel soils and careful use of oak have resulted in a claret with super concentration and delicate toasty nuances. Great depth too, thanks to an exceptional Bordeaux vintage. With 5 years' ageing under its belt, this is drinking beautifully - the tannins have softened and the fruit is enhanced by savoury, earthy hints. Despite its years, the nose is fruit rich with toasty new oak and bright notes of plum. The old vine fruit gives it excellent concentration with earthy, maturing red and black fruits typical of its Merlot/Cabernet blend, supple tannins and freshness. Fine Cru Bourgeois, a classification that has to be earned every vintage.
