The delightful and moreish San Lucas is from a family cellar founded by Pascual Toso over a century ago. Born into a winemaking family in Piedmont, Pascual emigrated to Argentina in the 1880s. He put his expertise to good use, establishing what is today one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious bodegas. Many of its top cuvées receive ratings above 90 points from Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and other expert wine publications. In London, the winery was awarded the IWC Trophy for ‘Best Argentinian Producer 2007’. Enjoy a taste of their talent with this red, aged briefly in American oak barrels to lend a hint of spicy vanilla to its blackberry, violet and liquorice character. Delicious with classic rib-eye steaks or oxtail casserole.
