Mimi’s top picks this month in one great value case... just £8.99 per bottle
There are lots of new vintage arrivals I wanted to share with you this month, as well as an old favourite
that I couldn’t resist including in my Handpicked Highlights.
First in the reds is Château Tour Haut Labrit, one of the first 2018 Bordeaux to arrive in our cellars. It’s a vintage we’re really excited about so we’re looking forward to hearing what you think. Villa des Anges Cabernet Sauvignon comes to us courtesy of our old friend Jeff Carrel. Many of you will have enjoyed this estate’s rosé and I think you’ll love this new red too which was awarded a gold medal by France’s Gilbert & Gaillard guide. Last in the reds is that longstanding favourite I mentioned – the incredible value Borsao Reserva.
Moving on to the whites, you have the 2019 release of Oude Kaap Sauvignon Blanc, full of mouth-watering tropical fruit. Ventoux Sud Blanc is a new, citrussy white from vineyards at the foot of Mont Ventoux in the Southern Rhône. Finally, there’s the new vintage Villa Loosen Riesling – crisp and racy with a twist of lime, I love it paired with spicy crab cakes or lemongrass chicken.
Please note, Ventoux Sud Blanc is now being replaced with Clefs du Pontif Marsanne Viognier.
