Founded in 2007, Moli dels Capellans is the collaboration of two friends – Sergi Montala and Jordi Masdeu. Their winery is located in Conca de Barberà, a small region in Catalunya usually associated with the production of Cava. But these two winemakers are passionate to showcase indigenous Catalan varieties – such as Parellada and Trepat - in still wines. Trepat is a red grape variety usually reserved for Cava rosado (rosé) wines. But used in a red wine, it shows sappy red fruits, with perfumed notes and an elegant freshness. Soft, fresh and spicy, this red brims with cherry, raspberry and cranberry fruit, floral hints and sweet spice. Open early, it's exceptional now, but will age well. A true hidden treasure to savour.
