James Suckling wrote, "Montepeloso is one of the emerging superstars on the Tuscan Coast". Since 1999 Fabio Chiarelotto has been at the helm. A perfectionist in both the vineyard and the cellar, he has worked to replant the vineyards with the finest clones, reduce yields and introduce top winemaking practices, all in the name of expressing the true potential of the estate's terroir. In 2007 Silvio Denz, owner of a handful of top Bordeaux estates in Saint-Emilion and Sauternes, invested in the estate and further boosted quality. Their winemaker is Fabrio Moltard, who has worked with the legend, Angelo Gaja. Using a unique grape blend from young vines and aged 15 months in barrel (15% new), the wine is luscious, rich and fruit filled.

"Smoke, tar and spice, as well as lots of dark fruit and olives on the nose. Full-bodied" James Suckling
