From former 'Winemaker of the Year' in the region and with many other awards besides, this is a fresh Gold medal white. It's made from pure, old vine Macabeo from Carlos Plaza's 50 year old bush vines. Lovely intensity of creamy lemon and pear notes.

From a young age, Carlos Plaza was dead set on winemaking. He used to rush out into the vineyards to help his father whenever he could. And as soon as he could qualify as a winemaker, he did, winning Extremadura's 'Winemaker of the Year' - the youngest ever – in 2011. He founded his own estate in 2008, with vineyards in Tierras de Barros. The grapes for this creamy, lemony white are from 50 year old bush vines and lie at 520 metres altitude. The former adds to the superb creamy intensity of this wine, while the height and coolness of the vines brings aroma and freshness. Carlos uses a gentle hand in his winemaking to get the most from the grapes. Enjoy here bright citrus with hints of pear and apple. Lovely solo or with herby fish dishes.
