PSI Dominio de Pingus 2019

Ribera del Duero DO

From the great Peter Sisseck, who has regularly received near-perfect 99 points for the straight Pingus wine, this is elegant PSI. It's named after the 23rd letter of the Greek alphabet and, according to James Suckling, is "another impressive PSI".

Peter Sisseck is an exceptional Danish winemaker, who fell in love with Ribera del Duero. He could see the huge potential of the very old bush vines, its poor soils and climate. So started the great Pingus dynasty, a wine of which was described by top critic Robert Parker, as "one of the greatest and most exciting young red wines I have ever tasted." This was for Pingus 1995, using grapes from ancient vineyards that Peter had the good fortune to acquire. Sisseck wanted to give back to the region and so PSI was born. He works closely with growers, showing them how to make the most of their ancient vines, by tending sustainably and producing small amounts of superb fruit. 'Capturing the soul' of Ribera del Duero, this is a very fine red.
