Winemaker Leonardo Palumbo is so happy with this luscious, juicy red that he's put his name on the label. Using three native Puglian grapes – Nero di Troia, Negroamaro and Primitivo – he's made this juicy red, brimful with dark, spiced fruit.

Deep in southern Italy, Puglia is a haven for authentic, rich reds that over deliver for the price. Our Buyer Leo was particularly pleased to reserve this wine, named after its winemaker Leonardo (another one) Palumbo. Winemaker Leo says it's a rule of his family that you only put your name on the label of a wine you are really delighted with. And he is! It's a ripe, freshly fruity blend of three of Puglia's finest red grapes. Nero di Troia for elegant peppery fruit, Negroamaro for deep colour, black fruit and structure, and Primitivo for damson hints and deeper bass notes! They make a perfect ensemble – lots of dark, juicy flavour with ripeness and depth. Very gulpable on its own, but best with grilled meats or a hearty veggie casserole.

"Delighted with this new find red from Leonardo Palumbo. Lots of dark cherry fruit and spice hints" Leonardo Bassano
