Atlantico has become everyone’s favourite red at Averys – from staff to customers and critics – no-one can resist its fruity, easy-drinking charm. It’s made by Herdade de Sao Miguel, a family-owned estate described by wineanorak.com’s Jamie Goode as “a new Portuguese star”. It wins so many awards – over 500 Golds in ten years. The wine is made from a blend of traditional Portuguese varieties including Aragonez (the Portuguese name for Tempranillo), Trincadeira and Alicante Bouschet. With a full body and juicy fruit, this easy-drinking red is the perfect partner for hearty pasta dishes or aged cheeses. It's also supple and fruity enough to enjoy on its own and terrific served at a barbecue. Lots of vibrant ripe fruit with a twist of spice.
