The Castéja family, who also own Château Batailley, has lived in the heart of the Médoc for more than 350 years. Château Beau-Site became part of their story when Marcel Borie, grandfather of today’s owner Philippe Castéja, acquired the château in 1955. Since then, Beau-Site has been recognised as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel. This indicates the most superior quality in the esteemed Cru Bourgeois categories. The estate has an 18th-century underground cellar, one of the oldest in Médoc, which is perfect for maturing their clarets, meticulously made with state-of-the-art equipment at the recently refurbished château. It’s a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend balancing fruit, elegance and a touch of spice. Decant and savour now, or cellar.
