Top vintage of this cracking Cabernet Shiraz. Every year the RedHeads winemaker, Alex Trescowthick, chooses the best grapes. In 2020 these were two A-grade parcels from premium Barossa and Coonawarra. Immense kirsch, eucalyptus and lavish oak spice.

Henry Laithwaite is the originator of this wine, but with his own English Sparkling wine estate and a travel ban for us all, it was the turn of top RedHeads winemaker, Alex Trescowthick, to step up to the plate. He was handed a gift too. The Shiraz grapes are top notch for starters – from some of the winery's finest growers – usually destined for their Icon wines. The Cabernet is from Coonawarra, Australia's best region for this variety. What's more, it was a parcel destined for a larger cellar's flagship wine. It was wrongly delivered to RedHeads! Again! The grower rang and apologised for the fortuitous accident. It's made a cracker of a wine. Add in the superb conditions of 2020 and you can imagine it's power, dense fruit and weight.
