Averys and Remoissenet have a friendship that stretches back over 60 years which is priceless when it comes to securing great value wines like this one direct from the cellars. Many of the Remoissenet wines were once bottled in the Averys cellars and Roland Remoissenet even spent a summer working with us in Bristol! Roland has now retired but we continue to work closely with the current team led by Bernard Repolt.
If you haven’t come across ‘Renommée’ before, it means ‘renamed’ and very often this blend comes from parcels from well-known villages that have been declassified and put together under a simple Bourgogne label
Remoissenet’s historic cellars below the town of Beaune are host to an amazing collection of historic wines with Premier and Grand Cru wines dating back to the early 20th Century
Roland Remoissenet has now retired but Bernard Repolt, together with Pierre Rovani, former Burgundy editor at Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate, and the brilliant Claudine Jobard, have transformed the quality at this famous old house
Tasting note: Vibrant red fruit on the nose with aromas of raspberry, and cranberry and a hint of delicate spice from barrel ageing. A smooth textured wine with excellent concentration and length with fine velvet tannins
