Roche Lacour 50th Anniversary 2013

Cremant de Limoux AOC

A great value alternative to Champagne, with real class. And this special edition for our 50th Anniversary is the best yet. With the fruit and acidity for long ageing and made by the same method as Champagne, this fizz has richness and finesse.

We’ve offered this exemplary wine for over two decades, and the multitude of awards over the years – and the 5-Star reviews – speak volumes. It is our bestselling sparkler by a mile. Roche Lacour winemaker Viviane Gianesini works her magic beneath the cool hills of Limoux. Here, the monks of Saint Hilaire are said to have mastered sparkling wine methods in 1531, centuries ahead of Dom Pérignon. Bottles back then were fragile and didn’t travel, so their success remained a secret. This special edition cuvée, rich in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, like Champagne, and oak fermented, just like Krug, was long aged on its lees in bottle. In fact, it’s only just been disgorged. The result is toasty complexity and length, like a great Champagne.

"One of my favourites! Gorgeous bubble, light brioche flavour, slightly creamy but light and so yummy" Online Review
