Fine, elegant, complex bubbly from California's cool, fog shrouded Anderson Valley. With more than a touch of Champagne style, this is from the house of Roederer. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a portion of reserve wine, this has rich toasty length.

Roederer is one of the top names in Champagne. This famous house was founded in 1776 and two centuries later remains family owned. The sixth generation, Jean-Claud Rouzaud, developed the estate in California, selecting 235 hectares of vines in the fog covered Anderson Valley, Mendocino County. There are four distinct vineyards within the estate, hence its name 'Quartet', each lending a different character. All are close to the ocean and protected by the mist, so the grapes ripen slowly and gently. Using Champagne varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, vinified by the same classic methods, this is a fine fizz. It contains 10-15% reserve wine from up to five different vintages, too, just like they do at Roederer, Champagne, for extra finesse.
