Herdade de São Miguel is a family-owned estate, described by wineanorak’s Jamie Goode as “a new Portuguese star.” Having won over 500 Golds and earned 100 90+ scores in ten years, this winery is certainly living up to that star status. Their Segredos de São Miguel Reserva is a medley of Portugal’s most prized red grapes. Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional and Trincadeira combine to form a sumptuously rich, well-balanced wine that’ll keep you coming back for more. First released in 2006 this Reserva has a history of high scores from critics, reaching above 90 almost every vintage. The 2019 received 91-Points from Wine Enthusiast and a Gold. Laden with spiced black fruits and a long tobacco finish, it's spot on with a hearty stew.
