Selección Numerada 45 Reserva comes to you courtesy of the Manzanos brothers, fifth generation winemakers in Rioja. They’ve long had an interest in the wines of next door Navarra and when the opportunity arose to buy the oldest winery in the region, they jumped at the chance! What they didn’t realise was that the cellars were still full with several vintages of unlabelled, mature Reservas and Gran Reservas. As you can imagine, we were happy to help relieve them of a few cases and selected this 2012 Reserva as the cream of the crop. Aged for 30 months in barrel and four years in bottle, it’s satin-smooth with mellow black fruits, spice and tobacco.
