If you like a white with lots of personality (think tasty spice and rounded exotic fruit), then choose Gewurztraminer. This Spanish rarity has freshness too, and makes a perfect partner for spicy Thai stir-fry or peppered squid. And it’s a charming aperitif as well. It comes from the excellent La Viña cellar, where Marta Martínez is winemaker. Our Buyer Beth dropped by and was offered a glass to revive her in the 40 degree heat. Boom! Beth was smitten. The wine has explosive flavours of marmalade, orange peel and lychee, with a truly zingy finish. As critic Will Lyons wrote "in mid summer, as the temperatures rise and dusk falls later, a glass of chilled Gewurz is exactly what the palate craves". Great solo or with spicy or creamy dishes.
