Bergerac is a forgotten enclave of high-quality, good-value wines very similar to Bordeaux next door. Take Guyendac - a bright, citrusy-fresh blend of Sauvignon with a portion of Sémillon, lees-aged for a little creamy weight. Elegant and crisp.

Travel upriver along the Dordogne river and you'll find the beautiful region of Bergerac. It's a holiday haven for many Brits, yet, unless you're a regular visitor there, you'll probably know little about its wines. Surprising really, when both its reds and whites are similar in style to Bordeaux's – Cabernet Merlot and Sauvignon Sémillon blends. Delicious too. Guyendac is a crisp white crafted by well-known consultant Pascal Poussevin and resident winemaker Didier Grandeau. They make a super team, picking at night and cool fermenting for maximum freshness. Skin contact and ageing on lees adds a creamy weight to the zingy, grapefruit and grassy lime flavours. Chill down and serve solo or with grilled fish and other mid to light dishes.

"An excellent wine. A lovely smooth wine. One of the nicest I have had in a while" 5-Star Online Review
