Javier Murúa’s wines have long been favourites so when we heard he’d bought a winery in Galicia’s Rías Baixas region, the heartland of Albariño, our interest was immediately piqued. Conde de Cron Albariño comes from Salnés Valley, the oldest and coolest sub-region of Rías Baixas Ocean breezes help give the wines a mouth-watering maritime freshness, whilst granite soils add a distinct mineralityFrom a vintage widely considered to be superb throughout the Rías Baixas region. The 2018 is mineral-fresh with zesty fruit alongside Albariño's characteristic peach and apricot flavours. Fresh and elegant, it's delicious on its own and not surprisingly given its Galician origins, it's even better with seafood.
