Tikohi is the Maori word for 'to gather together'; something the extensive Rose family do very well at work and play – they all help out running the winery. New Zealand Sauvignon is now so famous it’s hard to believe that, when Phil and Chris Rose first saw the potential for crafting Sauvignon Blanc in what is now known as Marlborough’s Golden Mile, they had to ask permission from the authorities! Back in 1978, the only agriculture deemed viable here was alfalfa. Of course, hindsight is a wonderful thing, as is this latest release of Tikohi. So, pour a glass and unleash the tropical aromas of the world’s most unmistakable Sauvignon style. The family recommend this as a glass solo or with salmon, spicy noodles or the local seafood.
