Taylor's Vintage Port 2018

Port

US critic Robert Parker said Taylor’s “must certainly be the Latour of Portugal”. He added their ports “have an inner strength and firmness that keep them going on for decades”. This 96-pt 2018 has the structure to age for decades. A sleeping beauty.

Superb 2018 port from Taylor’s, a firm with a reputation for producing arguably the finest, most ageworthy vintage wines. Their ports regularly receive well over 90 from top critics. Taylor’s own three estates and, after every harvest, each property’s finest wines are kept aside to age. After two years, the tasting panel returns to see if the wines are of exceptional quality. If they pass this stage, they are blended together. Their Quinta Vargellas brings structure, elegance and complexity, while Quintas Terra Feita and Junco add body and great depth of fruit. After that, the tasting panel decides whether the wine has sufficient fruit and structure to be a ‘declared’ vintage. The third in a row, this powerful 2018 will go the distance.
