Teja Roja Rosado 2019

Vino Rosado

For 40 years, Familia Martínez Bujanda have made us outstanding wines, but this is their first release of Teja Roja pink. Using top grapes Garnacha and Tempranillo, it's elegant and fresh with delightful crisp summer berry fruit and lemony zip.

Familia Martínez Bujanda was founded 140 years ago and in the last 40 years have clocked up a huge number of top awards. Named among the Top 50 wineries in the world nine years in succession is no mean feat! They pride themselves on using all estate grown fruit, but in a plentiful year, not all of them can be declared as Rioja. That's appellation rules. So this delightful, fresh pink is a declassified DOC and terrific value for that. Winemaker is Antonio Orte - he picked the grapes in October, left the juice on the skins for 18 hours, so it has an amazing deep colour, lots of ripe berry fruit and zippy lemon freshness to balance. Chill down, it makes a very moreish glass solo, or with chicken, grilled salmon or roasted vegetables with feta.

"What an inviting colour, and full of lovely berry fruit. Very gulpable and delicious" Beth Willard
