Made from classic southern French grapes Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier and given extra character by local rarities, Loin de l’Oeil and Terret.
The fruit is sourced from the ancient vine-clad hills of Gaillac, near Toulouse, and vineyards that abut the fashionable appellation of Picpoul de Pinet.
2017 was a small, high-quality vintage that favoured very old, deep-rooted vines (the kind that Mark Hoddy seeks out for special project wines like this.
Light and bright with pale gold highlights. Beautifully fresh with aromas of citrus, nectarine and peach. Lively and fresh on the palate with subtle lemon, lime and orchard fruit flavours and a tangy finish. Great on its own and especially good with fresh oysters.
