This supple, great-value red shows that Argentina produces more than just great Malbec – it excels with Syrah too! The wine is from Zuccardi – a highly awarded, third-generation family cellar founded in the 1960s by Don Alberto Zuccardi. An engineer by trade, he invented an irrigation system then planted a vineyard to show wine estates how it could benefit grape quality. Now Zuccardi is one of Mendoza’s leading cellars: winner of Best Vineyard in South America, New World Winery of the Year, a Lifetime Achievement award, Top winemaker prize and their top wines regularly gain 100 Parker points. Not quite in that league, this elegant red combines Syrah's peppery bramble fruit with Malbec’s spicy violet notes. Tasty with chilli or pasta.
