Founded in 2005 by Jim Harrison and Simon Webster, this well known brewery started out in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall. A rather lovely spot, surrounded by the beautiful gardens of the 100-acre estate. Along the way, the brewery has won an array of awards for their beers, both traditional and more out-there styles. Such was their success, they had to expand into premises in Bakewell, where they continue to make terrific brews. Above all, they like to harness maximum flavour in their tasty range. Enjoy here their rich, creamy-smooth porter. Using the malts Pale, Munich, Brown, Crystal and Black with a trio of hops Willamete, Styrian and Mount hood, it is brimful of coffee and chocolate character, balanced with a light roastiness.
