Want to enjoy some unusual grape varieties? Greco and Fiano are two of Italy's most characterful but, finicky to grow, they aren't planted widely. Luckily remote Basilicata, one of Italy's most mountainous regions, excels with both. These vineyards are located at 800m altitude on the slopes of Mount Vulture. Consultant winemaker Alberto Antonini describes the area as isolated, uncontaminated and just like stepping back in time. Away from the bustle of modern life, winemaker Danilo Gizzi has crafted the Greco and Fiano grapes into this lovely creamy, lemony white with a gentle touch of tropical fruit. It has lovely freshness too, making it the perfect aperitif, or - better still – enjoy alongside a peach and burrata salad or chicken.
