Portugal's flavour-packed wines are on a roll – adored by customers and critics alike! It's thanks to fabulously rich, great-value wines like this. Blending Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah with local star Touriga Nacional, it's a warming and spicy red.
Spicy black fruit, cassis and toasty vanilla oak
Dark ripe berries with toasty spice
Valoroso means ‘valiant’ – a word that could not only be applied to this delicious red, but also to the team behind it. The wine’s pedigree is most impressive – it comes from the Freitas family estate, near Lisbon. In 2008 they won ‘Best Red Wine in the World’ at the Vinalies Internationales in Paris. Furthermore, fourth-generation owner Leonor Freitas has been awarded a ‘Comendadora’ Order of Merit for services to Portugal’s wine trade. Valoroso is a rare marriage of plush Cabernet Sauvignon, velvety local speciality Touriga Nacional and Syrah. The wine bursts with intense bramble fruits. It’s seriously smooth too, thanks to the expertise of internationally respected, award-winning winemaker Jaime Quendera. Serve with hearty dishes.
