When the buyers first tasted this rich, stylish Chardonnay in the 2011 vintage, they couldn’t believe the price tag and snapped up all the available stock. Since then it has fast become a customer favourite.
As prices continue to rise in Burgundy, we wanted to find an everyday alternative that would offer the complexity and structure of Chardonnays from the region. This wine fits the bill perfectly
Made by Languedoc Roussillon specialists Calmel J Joseph, who have harnessed the ripening potential of the region while keeping things classy. Growing on volcanic and limestone soils, harvesting at night, and judicious use of wood have all helped to make this wine surprisingly serious
A concentrated and ripe Chardonnay this wine would be delicious with roast chicken, turkey or risottos
Tasting note: A concentrated Chardonnay with stone fruit aromas of apricot and peach followed by white flowers. The palate is well balanced and fresh, with exotic fruit and subtle oaky notes. The finish is succulent and rich with a touch of salinity.
