Villa Loosen from the slate strewn slopes of the dramatic Mosel is the perfect introduction to Riesling. For us, this encapsulates the delicate and graceful style of Mosel Riesling. The wine maintains the hallmarks of this great variety as well as displaying the characteristics of the region Mosel's steep, south-facing slopes create the perfect climate for Riesling, giving the vines ideal exposure to the low-lying, northern sun. The cool conditions of this northerly region also allow the grapes to ripen slowly, while retaining bright acidity. Ernie Loosen is one of Germany’s finest winemakers, owner of some of the Mosel’s top vineyard sites and winner of countless awards Loosen has some of the best vineyards in the Mosel with some vines over 120 years old. Old vines produce naturally lower yields, resulting in higher concentration and richness With a racy, brisk finish, this is a great match for lightly spiced dishes . A classic off-dry German Riesling, this combines elegant citrus notes with Mosel minerality. The palate is crisp, juicy and fresh with a hint of tropical fruit and lime.
