Villa des Anges Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Pays d'Herault IGP

Jeff Carrel is an ace winemaker, a bit of a maverick too, and we just love his wines. He's very passionate about those from the Languedoc and you'll taste that in the ripe, silky blackcurrant fruit, with a touch of wild herbs, in this angelic red.

Jeff Carrel is wedded to the Languedoc. He loves making exciting new wines from the best fruit of the region. His family have owned an estate close to Capestang, here, for years – an old Roman villa, decorated with cherubs and angels inside, on plaster mouldings, wall friezes, paintings and the like, and outside on the gates, hence its name, Villa des Anges. Jeff is winemaker, while his wife Jacqueline Menard, owner of another family estate in Limoux, Domaine Saint Roch, manages all other aspects. They are a formidable team – Mister Carrell and Madame Menard as they like to call each other! Ripe cassis and smoky herbal notes, this is supple enough on its own and great with grilled meats, veggie kebabs or roasted vegetable salad.
