Jeff Carrel is wedded to the Languedoc. He loves making exciting new wines from the best fruit of the region. His family have owned an estate close to Capestang, here, for years – an old Roman villa, decorated with cherubs and angels inside, on plaster mouldings, wall friezes, paintings and the like, and outside on the gates, hence its name, Villa des Anges. Jeff is winemaker, while his wife Jacqueline Menard, owner of another family estate in Limoux, Domaine Saint Roch, manages all other aspects. They are a formidable team – Mister Carrell and Madame Menard as they like to call each other! Crisp and zesty, this Sauvignon is a great thirst quencher. It's tasty too with grilled fish, summer salads and other lighter dishes.
