Founded in 1946, Domaine Ferraton has always been a highly regarded estate. Yet since the Chapoutiers have come on board quality has rocketed. The Ferraton family started working with Michel Chapoutier in 1998, the latter buying the estate outright in 2004, but running it very much as an independent concern, with the family still at the helm. Oenologist Damien Brisset and the renowned Stéphane Ogier are also part of the domaine’s ‘super team’, and the result is some really impressive wines. Add in the 5-Star quality of the 2017 vintage and this is something special. Using equal quantities of Grenache and Syrah, it has silky black fruit with herbal complexity and a creamy texture. Serve with grilled meats and ratatouille. Ideal at a barbie.

"Bright raspberry fruit, a bit of peppery-herbal complexity and ripe tannins. A terrific value" Joe Czerwinski
Wine Advocate for 2016
