Arguably the leading producer in the northern Rhône, Michel Chapoutier has a wine heritage dating from 1808. Seven generations on, the family’s winemaking house has never been in better shape, thanks to Michel’s all consuming passion for the region’s terroir. Wine Advocate recently wrote “Not enough can be said about the quality that consistently comes from this estate.” This magnificent white is from three lieu-dits within the family’s prized Hermitage vineyards – Le Méal, Les Mûrets and Chante Alouette. Three quarters of the wine was aged in oak, the rest in vat to lend the perfect balance of toasty spice to the pure fruit and minerality. Critic Joe Czerwinski described the 2017 as "a terrific wine, maybe the best I've ever tasted".
