The name William Knuttel resounds in California's fine wine circles. Over his 38-year career he's helped some tiny Californian wineries establish BIG reputations. Famous estates like Saintsbury and Chalk Hill – where he specialised in ultra-premium Chardonnay - have William to thank for their success. In 2001, he founded his own estate and today is joined by his daughter, Kate, and son, Sebastian. Sonoma is one of California’s most notable wine regions. Here Chardonnay thrives in the sunny climate, yet benefits from the cooling influence of San Pablo Bay to lock in freshness. Crafted in classic Burgundian style, there’s a crisp edge beautifully balanced by rich, creamy fruit, with complexity from native yeasts and French oak fermentation.
