Clefs du Pontif Marsanne Viognier comes from vineyards near the small town of Argeliers in the Languedoc but was inspired by the magnificent whites of the Rhône Valley. IGP Pays’ d’Oc stands for ‘Indication Géographique Protégée’ and replaced Vin de Pays d’Oc in 2009. These wines come from across the Languedoc Roussillon region in Southern France and do not have to comply to strict AC regulations. Thereby giving winemakers much more flexibility and the opportunity to be more innovative. This, along with a very favourable climate and diverse terroir, is why many of the country’s top winemakers have been attracted to the region. Created just for Averys by Languedoc experts LGI, the Clefs du Pontif white is a blend of Marsanne and Viognier Marsanne makes up the base of the blend. It’s the key grape of white Hermitage - a mainstay of white Châteauneuf du Pape and adds length and longevity to many of the Rhône’s top whites Enjoy with grilled fish, Mediterranean vegetables or roast chicken. A bright golden colour with a lovely fresh peach and pear nose. Very fresh and vibrant on the palate with ripe apricot and white peaches leading into a long finish with cut grass freshness. With good weight and a mouthfilling texture, it’s very versatile with food.
