Averys Montepulciano d’Abruzzo has long been one of our most popular reds, so we’re thrilled to share with you the 2016 vintage which has a smart new look to celebrate our 225th anniversary. Don’t worry, it’s still made for us by Dario Bove (whose own wine, Indio, sells for twice this price) in the same easy-drinking style. Partially aged in oak, it combines the bright cherry fruit of Montepulciano with a soft supple character and a touch of spice. This is the sixth vintage and it continues to delight its many followers, while winning over new ones, year after year. With lots of juicy fruit and a soft, mouthfilling texture, it’s extremely versatile with food. Enjoy with charcuterie, a spicy sausage supper or tomato-based pasta dishes.

"The velvety, fruit forward Montepulciano grape given a rare bit of age. A customer favourite" Leonardo Bassano
