Yann Chave Crozes-Hermitage Blanc 2021

Crozes-Hermitage AOC

From a winemaker whose wines are "all loaded with character and highly recommended," (critic, Jeb Dunnock) comes this "rock-solid" white. 2021 proved 5-star for whites. This rare Crozes is brimful with stony peach and creamy honeyed character.

Yann Chave is hot property. His wines are listed by many top Michelin-starred French chefs, Bocuse, Ducasse and Troisgros among them. We’re delighted with his 2021 Crozes Blanc, from "an unmissable vintage for whites" (Decanter). And that's despite conditions that were challenging, so that yields were way down. Yann Chave adheres to organic principles through all his vineyards (making 2021 even harder). He loves white Burgundy, a fact that shows through in the opulent style of this great white, balanced by a pristine mineral freshness. Wild yeast fermentation with ageing in stainless steel vat, no oak, this is a very pure white. Chill lightly, open early and decant, or cellar. An ace white with panfried scallops and buttery chanterelles.

"It’s an exceptional year for white wine in both the southern and northern Rhône" Matt Walls, Decanter
