Lecturer Dr. Frederick Frankenstein discovers that he has inherited his grandfather’s famous Transylvanian estate. Travelling from America to collect his inheritance, Frankenstein meets servants Igor, Inga and Frau Blücher, and is seized with a strange urge to recreate his grandfather’s controversial experiments…Join us for another Halloween Vintage Screening in AVERYS historic wine cellars, alongside a tasting of Germanic wines selected by their resident experts. Begin the evening with sparkling wine on arrival, before enjoying your wine tasting during the film.Celebrated physician Dr. Frederick Frankenstein tries to avoid discussing his grandfather Victor, the mad scientist responsible for creating ‘The Monster’. A death in the family means he must travel to the family’s ancestral home in Transylvania, in order to take stock of his inheritance. There, he discovers his Victor’s old journals, and with the encouragement of a servants Igor and Inga, begins to recreate his grandfather’s disturbing experiments on human life.
This event is strictly for over 18s. Photographic ID may be required prior to entry. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anybody who is unable to produce appropriate ID. We regret that we are unable to offer refunds to guests refused entry for this reason. Doors for this event will open at 18:45. The film will commence with a short talk at approximately 19:00. The event will conclude at approximately 21:15. Averys wine cellar can be accessed either through the Averys shop (accessed via stairs), or through the side entrance on Frogmore Street. Averys cellar is suitable for disabled access, however we do ask any guests who have accessibility queries or concerns to contact us directly. We remind guests that there are some uneven areas of floor in the cellar. Guests will receive a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, followed by four wines during the film. Water will be available throughout the evening. This film is rated 15 (Contains strong language and moderate sex references) This film will be screened without subtitles.
