The Zuccardi family’s estate was founded in 1963 by Alberto, the grandfather of today’s superstar winemaker Sebastián. The winery is an angular, almost brutalist structure, designed as a tribute to the austerity of the landscape it complements. Constructed with utmost respect for the grape, the cellar is fully gravity fed. You won’t find any stainless steel here – all the tanks are concrete – hence this wine’s unusual name. It’s even aged in concrete vats to preserve the fruit purity and structure of the Malbec. “Lots of purple fruit with blackberry and blueberry aromas, as well as stone” said James Suckling, while Wine Advocate says “the wine keeps its poise and depth” and “will feel fresh and superb”. It's textured and will age superbly.
