Averys 'own label' is a badge of honour and only applied to wines we think are of exceptional quality and value. Like this fruit-filled Côtes du Rhône. It's an Averys exclusive created by Eric and David Martin of Domaine Martin. Their vineyards are located between the renowned villages of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas. It's a rich Rhône red from a great vintage which produced superb aromatics and a lovely balance. Grenache with a generous splash of peppery Syrah, it's been aged in seasoned oak casks to add layers of complexity to its concentrated black fruit and spice. Ripe and velvety, with hints of herbs and spice, this is a top match with Moroccan lamb, sausage and butter bean cassoulet, or at a barbecue. Great on its own, too.
