Bulgaria may not be the first place that springs to mind when it comes to wine production, but it’s an off-the-beaten track gem that is worthy of note. After all, winemaking in the Thracian Valley, one of the largest wine regions in Bulgaria, can be traced back to 4000 BC, and in 2017 Wine Enthusiast voted it the second-best wine destination in Europe! Traditionally viticulture in the Thracian Valley focused on red wines, but in recent years, producers have turned to white grape varieties with excellent results. Just like this Sauvignon Blanc. Winemaker Kapka Gergieva has more than 20 years of winemaking experience and has expertly crafted this white wine to allow the vibrant aromatics to shine. Delicious with salad, fish or on its own.
