Averys Silver Lizard Dry Gin was a staple on the Averys list for many years and so we’re thrilled to launch this new bespoke blend in our 225th year. It’s made especially for us by Will Betts and Michael Palij – the team behind Smeaton’s Bristol Method Dry Gin.
Will and Michael have spent the last 10 years re-creating an original handwritten recipe for Bristol Method Dry Gin from the 1870s
“Bristol Method” means each botanical has been individually distilled in small batches in copper pot stills to capture the purest, finest flavours
Silver Lizard is a blend of nine botanicals: juniper, coriander, liquorice, fresh Valencian late oranges, fresh lemon, angelica root, vanilla, cardamon and orris root
Tasting note:Silver Lizard is a citrus forward gin, the use of fresh orange is evident on the nose, this mingles with the coriander and cardamom for a harmonious, moreish aroma. The vanilla contributes to a smooth, creamy mouthfeel while the fresh lemon keeps each sip fresh. Try garnishing with a slice of pink grapefruit, with a couple of bruised mint leaves.
