Château Peyre-Lebade wines feature the fruity and fleshy characteristics that are specific to the Haut-Médoc. They are distinguished by the high Merlot content, which makes them particularly supple and smooth.Château Peyre-Lebade has experienced a revival under the leadership of Baron Benjamin de Rothschild, cousin of the Mouton and Lafite Rothschilds On the site of an old limestone quarry, the geology of the site influenced the name of the property, Peyre-Lebade means lifting stonesThe great painter Odilon Redon lived in and painted most of his most famous paintings at the Chateau . A restrained, elegant and modern Bordeaux with black cherry and cassis on the palate a lovely structure of fruit and elegant restrained oak. Drinking beautifully now but will continue to improve over the next 5 to 10 years.
