Domaine de Nizas Le Clos comes from a fabulous estate near the medieval town of Pézenas in the Languedoc. Owner John Goelet founded Clos du Val in Napa Valley, Clover Hill in Tasmania and Taltarni, one of the pioneering wineries in Victoria’s Pyrenees region, before setting up Domaine de Nizas in 1998 - an impressive line-up by anyone’s standards!
Decanter silver medal winner, scoring 92 points
It would go well with all sorts of richly flavoured dishes, rib of beef, Morrocan lamb or barbecued food. It’s worth decanting in advance if you can
At only 30km from the Mediterranean sea, Domaine de Nizas benefits from the favourable Mediterranean climate
Tasting note: “Vibrant deep purple colour. Rich bright ripe black fruit on the nose, spicy plums spring to mind. Matching voluptuous soft warm black fruit driven palate, juicy mid palate with a lovely spicy finish, beautifully balanced. Delicious.” Mimi Avery
