Groote Kaap Viognier is an exotic white from one of the most impressive wineries in premium Stellenbosch. Like the original Viogniers from the northern Rhône, it’s full of honeysuckle and apricot notes, with a lush, but fresh, mouthfilling texture.

The Story Behind the Bottle
Viognier, the luscious tasting grape originally from the tiny Rhône enclave of Condrieu, is now very much at home in the sun-blessed vineyards of the Cape. Here the grape thrives, delivering wines brimful of peach and apricot, honeysuckle and spice. Like this mouthfilling Groote Kaap. It’s made by the hugely impressive Spier winery (former IWSC South African Wine Producer of the Year). Founded near Stellenbosch in 1692, this historic cellar predates most of the great châteaux of Bordeaux! Today Spier is one of the most famous estates in this outstanding region. You'll taste why with their 2019 Viognier. It's ripe, and refreshing, with lovely ripe fruit. Pour generously and enjoy with creamy white meat dishes, fish or spiced noodles.
