The Story Behind the Bottle
With a cellar in Victoria and the Riverland, Andrew McPherson makes some of our most popular Aussie wines, like the Full Fifteen. He just has the knack of obtaining a great balance of ripe fruit and zesty freshness. Andrew learnt some of his skill from his dad, Jock, then travelled the world to discover more. Charlie’s Block is a delicious white featuring the Rhône’s Marsanne grape. There’s not much of it grown in Australia, yet Victoria has some of the world’s oldest plantings outside France, dating back to 1927. Down Under it produces the same honeyed peach and almond character you find in fine Rhône wines, coupled with a jubilant freshness. Chill down a bottle and serve with chicken, haloumi and vegetable kebabs or spicy noodle stir-fry.
