XV Pure is made from a blend of 70% Cabernets with 30% Merlot, all selected from old vines by veteran Australian winemaker Andrew McPherson. Andrew set up a small winery in Victoria in 1968 and over the years has built it up from a cottage industry to become one of Australia’s leading names. Rated four stars by leading Australian critic James Halliday, it’s renowned for making delicious-drinking wines at all price levels. Bold, rich and 15% alcohol, this is a big Aussie red – packed with juicy black fruits, damsons and plum.
